People and Partners

Celebrities like to talk about their “people” when they need to get something done. As in, “Get with my people and let’s make it happen!”

Think of the Abbi PR team as the latest addition to your professional entourage – together we can make big things happen.

Abbi Holtom Whitaker, president and founder

Abbi Whitaker has over a decade of public relations experience ranging from high end real estate projects such to Mammoth Mountain, CA and the famous Tour de Nez bike race. A true media relations expert, Abbi is able to understand what the media are looking for, craft story ideas and pitches based on their style and needs and package everything together in an easy to understand format that appeals to reporters in today's busy news environment.

As the former VP of Lyman Public Relations, Abbi has organized over 15 on-site media tours—bringing top tier writers to various locations throughout the US, Mexico and Costa Rica for first hand experiences. She has also conducted numerous media tours in New York City, Los Angeles, San Francisco, London and Las Vegas where she has met one on one with reporters on behalf of various clients.

During her five year tenure at Lyman Public Relations Abbi created and implemented media relations strategies for The Village at Squaw Valley USA, Mammoth Mountain, MonteLago Village at Lake Las Vegas, The Westin Monache and The Westin Verasa, among others. Abbi launched both The Westin Monache and The Westin Verasa. She was responsible for the real estate launch of the branded condo hotel properties and then went on to manage the public relations for the hotels. Abbi has secured coverage in national outlets ranging from Good Morning America and The New York Times to Forbes Magazine and Food & Wine.

The relationships Abbi has cultivated over the years with various adventure sports, outdoors, business, real estate and lifestyle writers enable her to quick start a campaign and begin generating coverage within the first month. Her work with local events has ensured that she's maintained relationships on a local level and her work with nationally recognized business such as Mammoth Mountain, Intrawest and Trump have helped her secure contacts at top tier publications.

Patrick Ty Whitaker, client relations specialist

Ty is the calm center of Abbi PR. He's the bridge between clients and the crazy creative types loose in the agency. Ty captures the big picture, keeping abreast of client competitors and developments in client industries. That allows Abbi PR to deliver better, more nuanced and more focused pitches.
